Generation Z or Gen Z refers to the demographic cohort born between 1997 and 2012. Here are some facts about Gen Z in the workplace:

According to a study by Indeed, one-third of Gen Z individuals say they are the hardest working generation, but they expect work-life balance and competitive benefits in return. Such benefits include paid parental leave, generous vacation time, and flexibility in work hours and location.[1]

A global study by Adobe found that Gen Z employees have been driving the mass exodus. Gen Zers are different from their older and more tenured Millennial colleagues.

Empathy and honesty are the top traits that Gen Z workers value in leaders and managers according to a survey by TalentLMS. The majority of employed Gen Z individuals prefer a hybrid work model, and in-person socialization with colleagues is important to seven out of ten Gen Zers. Three out of ten employed Gen Zers have not received workplace training.

As Gen Zers enter the workforce, their impact will be swift and profound, with effects rippling through the workplace, retail consumption, technology, politics, and culture, according to Deloitte US.
